M.I.A. video for Born Free – what a big fuss!

There’s been a lot of fuss this week ../about the new M.I.A. ‘Born Free’ video, where some soldiers round up ginger people and shoot them.

The Independent (not sure why this twat feels he needs to make excuses for having red hair, maybe he’s got a chip on his shoulder because someone in Hoxton picked on him once): http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/features/caught-in-the-net-mia-sees-red-in-violent-new-video-1958285.html

The Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/media/pda/2010/apr/28/mia-bornfree-youtube

BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/10087809/mia-video-removed-by-youtube

In the rush to comment on what type of a ’statement’ M.I.A. is trying to make, everyone seems to have overlooked the fact that the song itself is quite rubbish.

I’m not a massive fan of gratuitous violence, even if it is making a political statement, so here’s a much more pleasant video instead.
